Complementary Therapists The charity is fortunate in being able to call on the services of some very experienced and well-qualified specialist Therapists. They not only go into people’s homes to administer treatments which provide substantial physical and emotional relief, but also develop a real bond with individuals and their carers. Their service is recognised as being extremely helpful for people suffering discomfort or stress – this is often particularly helpful to carers who need to relax and feel good about themselves at a time when they are under a lot of pressure. The therapists all provide their services at a reduced rate so the Charity can provide all therapies free. TLC Volunteers Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are of varying ages. This is important as the people using our services are equally varied and we aim to match volunteers with families where there is a common bond. All are highly committed people who have already given up significant amounts of their own time training and preparing for the role, which is wide-ranging. They are dedicated to the cause, caring and able to spend an average of three hours a week helping and supporting people in their own homes. Often, it is the carer who can benefit substantially from this support – giving them time out to relieve the ongoing burden of caring. |
